That approach seemed effective for a time. However, after experiencing another tumultuous relationship, I found myself in 2004 facing a severe depression. My mental well-being was compromised, my relationship had fallen apart, and any form of physical activity felt impossible. Consequently, I gained weight rapidly, reaching 300 pounds once again. I felt exhausted constantly; even intimacy became nearly non-existent, lasting less than two minutes—an experience that was nothing short of disheartening. My abdomen had grown so large that I could no longer see my own body’s contours.

Maintaining a Healthy Metabolism: Key Factors to Consider

**Calorie Intake**

The amount of calories consumed plays a crucial role in metabolism. Increasing calorie intake can stimulate metabolism, leading to increased energy expenditure and potential weight loss.
