I′ve always been passionate about both urban wildlife and sports. A few years ago, I tried to create a small garden in my apartment complex to attract birds and butterflies, thinking it would be great for our community. However, I quickly realized that the lack of natural habitat made it challenging for them to thrive. It felt like trying to play basketball on a muddy field—no one could enjoy the game! So, how can we design safe habitats for urban wildlife that can coexist with our recreational spaces? What practical steps can we take to ensure these habitats promote sustainability while still allowing us to enjoy sports and outdoor activities?
